Going Boho Chic, Cool Summer Fashion
Bohemian dressing, it seems, just comes and goes…and comes again. Summer is already right up the corner. This time is the best time to wear your Boho-chic clothes, kaftans, fringes and all. Think the Olsen Twins. You’ll get the picture. Before divulging into the basics of Boho-chic, there is one BIG tip on what NOT to do when you want to channel this type of dressing. Do not ever PILE on too many layers of clothes, unless you want to look like a coat rack. This look is just a fine line away from being fab to gab.
Now that we have tackled about the cons here is Boho-Chic 101
Since The Bohemian look is about being free-spirited and having the 60s and 70s as its main foundation, Boho chic has color as one of the key elements. Earthy colors in black, brown, khaki, cream and white are highly associated with this style.
You can add other colors to complement the basic hues of Boho-chic like gold, silver, gray and deep purple. Keep the color combinations in 3-4 colors max. Who says you cannot add pastels colors to the basic color palette? If the above mentioned colors are not within you color wheel, you can always try on different hues and shades.
Boho-Chic is all about layering
But as mentioned earlier, do not layer too much. Keep it at about 4 layers as well. Keep in mind the length of the longest layer. If it is too long, use a wide belt to shorten it. Use the same belt to make a shapeless dress into something so chic.
If the clothes make you look smaller, remove that from the layers. If it draws the attention away from the face, remove it as well. Layering may make certain types of body shapes look bigger that they normally are. So be careful on that too.
